Start of Summer Celebration!
Every year our city puts on a giant celebration to celebrate the start of summer! It has become a tradition that we look forward to as the school year comes to an end.
The carnival, the parade, the booths in the street. They even have frog and turtle races, though we missed them this year.
This was the first year that Charlie really got to ride any of the rides. Grant has never been much of a fan, but we had to hold Charlie back from boarding some of the more death defying rides. lol We compromised with a kid-sized version of a roller coaster and the ferris wheel.
This year we got to share the parade with Grammy. We always try to get there early, but find ourselves having to park six or more blocks away and hiking in anyway. It is a small parade, but they throw lots of candy.... which is, of course, the only reason that my kids like to go.
